Some of you have already pointed this out & I am wondering too: why on earth should WE shell out extra money to use a prize voucher? Don't you think this is unfair?

It is also likely, don't you think, that perhaps certain category products are eligible for buying with the vouchers? Maybe there are products which you cannot buy with those vouchers?

they are organizing the contests...hence they set the rules....its good they tell you in advance instead of throwing it at you suddenly when you least expect...so I think its fair enough! So you know whether you still want to participate or not.....FYI the amount one has to pay to use the voucher is tiny amount...maybe ebay wants to convert the contestants into their loyal customers too

As far as I'm concerned, prizes are tokens of appreciation....people here write because they love to write, not because the prize is lucrative or something else. It's a personal choice of participation I guess....indiblogger is so very rewarding, I would say! :)

I think it's 'very fair' and not wrong at all, as they have informed us about this beforehand  as ND said...Now it's up to us whether we wanna take part or not.
