Limited or No Connectivity - Broadband issues
Hi,
Renie, I am so deep in connectivity trouble that I havent been able to post for a long time - 3 weeks ...so please excuse me for posting this tech topic...I am hoping that some tech blogger will lend a sympathetic ear..the name Ranjith does seem helpful ..
If you are not feeling good abt it please remove it :-(
Issue -> I have an Airtel broadband connection that has been working fine for almost 5 years. My laptop is suddenly not connecting and throwing "Limted or No connectivity " -the network is not able to assign an IP for the computer.
IP shows up as 0.0.0.0 on ipconfig..I tried ipconfig/renew ...throws unable to contact DHCP server..
All the required services are up and running. I googled a lot and tried out everything.
Any ideas of how to fix it ? There is no problem with the network since my husbands laptop is able to connect to the n/w just fine.
Thanks.....F1....F1...
Sini
Thanks Hemal.
My laptop connects to wireless n/w.
My husbands laptop connects to the Airtel broadband which my laptop has the problem with.
I am also thinking of the n/w driver ...but the staus in device manager says its working fine.
I did a lot of steps from googling...no use..I am now guessing its some virus blocking the DNS sevices
planning to upgrade my antivirus.
Sini, it could be best if you approach Airtel and ask them to help fix it. Many a times, broadband companies do not care abut the users and this is one such scenario. If they could not, you can try getting a Networking guy or any computer repair professional to help.
However, a few tips:
- Try to connect your laptop to another network - see if that is working for you.
- Try to re-install your network driver (you can check the status in Device Manager console)
- If things do not work, you can think of using your OS CD and try recovery or re-install the OS.
Hope this helps.
