Well this is awkward! I rushed to finish my entry and just submitted it. While casually browsing the contest page, I noticed that deadline has been extended to Sep 4th.

Won't such frequent extensions set a wrong example? Not to forget the 'smart plagiarists' who can fish out submitted entries through Google and use it 'creatively'?

I hope the IB team can have some measures in place to detect such acts? Copyscape or similar algorithms maybe?

Nishant, a plagiarist can anyways fish the post without waiting for extensions. So don't bother about them instead be happy that you get another day to write a post or rewrite a post. 

This extension I believe is done on public demand as lot of us bloggers have requested in this forum and as you can see a lot more are thanking the team for extension. So cheer up and plagiarist ki aisi kum taisi! 

Well Ekta, its not that I'm sad or disheartened or anything. I'm just speaking from experience. In one of the contests, I submitted my entry a day before the deadline. I got to know next day only that contest was extended.

As (bad) luck would have it, some guy conveniently stole my idea as well as modified the text. And what's worse, the entry was not even deleted from the contest/IndiVine. To my mind, that definitely sets a very wrong example for the plagiarist community. 

On the deadline extension aspect, my view is straight - work expands with time. It is normal human tendecny to postpone tasks till the deadline appears close I'm all in favor of shorter (say 1 week) deadlines. That will also bring out better creativity and maybe. discipline.

I agree with you Nishant. However, we need to understand that no two bloggers r same :)

Ppeople like me who juggle with little hectic life (blame it on our poor time mgt or over commitment or real helplessness) that we cannot complete on finishing line and need a quality time to write a quality post. Just cause someone will copy my post, should I not write or publish?

Plagiarism is sad  but you can't help and need to leave it on mercies of judges/moderators. I too have seen some of my posts plagiarised and modified and published with additional content. I even decided to schdule posts on deadline but it ain't worth the risk.

So Chill, maybe some genuine bloggers got more time to come up with post and you my dear friend to modify your post.

I can't understand why people are getting confused related to their ambipur samples. I don't think so it requires any ambipur samples in order to write about it. Anyways, I rushed through my entry yesterday in haphazardness, and later saw that the deadline was extended. Sigh! 

...and I thought I was the only one who was lazy enough to 'rush through' contest posts at the last minute! I have company! :)

Btw, I just noticed that if you visit your profile page (the Public Profile) the entry is available to read (under 'Latest Posts')! (I came to know this through my blog stats). So I guess the clause 'entries are presently hidden' doesn't apply? Or is it a bug?

They are visible under Latest posts by XYZ and not xyz's latest posts on IndiVine

The Latest posts by XYZ is taken from your blog feed and since you have published your post, it will be definitely visible. Notice that your IndiVine entry is not visible under xyz's latest posts on IndiVine. So, they are still hidden.

It makes sense. Suppose, a person wants to read all the entries submitted for the contest. The only thing he can do is visit all the 20,000+ profiles on IB and see if they have submitted a post. So, entries are still hidden.

How many reviews do you want to write on a single product. They'll give only one. If you want, break it into two pieces and use one for each of your reviews.

@ Razi There are four Ambi contests :

1. The perfect road trip - Already closed

2. Smelly to Smiley - Open

You won't get any samples or participation hampers for the above two contests

3. AmbiPur vent clip review contest - You apply for the sample and post a review. The best reviews win prizes.

4. Ambi Put air effects and set & refresh review contest - Same as above

But I think that applying for samples for review contests ( 3 and 4 ) is also closed. If you still want to participate, but them and post a review. ( I hope that this is allowed  )

So There wont be any sample ambipur or Participation prize for me.. How sad..
