Hi guys, I tried to find a solution but have been unable to find one. The problem started ever since I upgraded my self hosted Wordpress to version 3.5 Every time I upload an image via Add Media, the uploader shows and captures the meta data properly, however the image is blank with an X mark, and so is the thumb nail. I tried deactivating all plug ins, reinstalling Wordpress and changing theme, some of the suggestions I found on the net, but none worked. Checked with the host and they said they cant help since it is the application issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Next time just check if your wp-uploads is proper, i.e. for FTP see if images are uploaded and also check if the paths are correct for the images.

Thanks for the tip! Will keep this in mind. The path was proper, i think something was wrong with the permissions.

Solved!

I removed all files except wp-config.php and wp-content folder, downloaded the fresh zip file, extracted to my local drive and uploaded the deleted files via FTP.

Once done, logged back in and changed the theme. Now, it is working :)
