As this is my first winning of a software product and offcourse first indi-contest win, Renie would you mind letting me know when will I be getting my DVD? :-))

You told that you are going to give it to someone else. 

And, why do you need a DVD? Download it from the net. You will be playing your role in reducing e-waste. 

i thought it'll be easy gifting someone my earned DVD

(1) high probability that -No DVD- a serial key will be provided

(2) but for desktop applications your operating system should be compatible 

why... a pirated win 7 won't do?

(1) Win 7 shall do but pirated version could get you in trouble as MS might cripple your operating system

(2) I have licensed Vista shipped along with my Dell PC, but I have a great inertia to switch to a newer one as it's been only  6 years. 

what I fear is- shall my broking and trading softwares  work smoothly in newer version ?

again 32 and 64 bit headache as some older programme might not run on 64 bit OS. migrating to newer OS on a 32 bit seems undesirable to me.

I remember last time I went for a best AV and it stopped one of my trading s/w. did everything 'access through firewall' etc but to no avail. But when uninstalled the AV everything ran smoothly.

the good thing with cracked win 7, which I've noted (in contrast to xp) when MS get to know, only a modest "your windows is not genuine" message is displayed now and then in the startup panel... and you can't put a wallpaper... that's all... no other harm

Spare a thought for me. I'm an open source freak and I've been using Linux Mint for all my computing needs for about a year now. I've even been using the LibreOffice suite and I believe that given the fact that all this s/w comes with a free GNU public license, I shouldn't be switching to anything commercial. But alas, Office365 won't be compatible with something as blissful and erudite as Mint just because it's from their rival. So, either I'll have to get a genuine working copy of Windows or I'll have to gift it to someone who would feel grateful enough after receiving it

@AS: I don't know when u got the first message but slowly all features shall get disabled and you shall be able to surf the net that too only for 1 hour.

Okey... after all this blind-loop talks I stick to my previous decision of gifting ms365 to someone in need for it and offcourse, I better quote Tushar's words "someone who would feel grateful enough after receiving it" 

The moment I saw 'pirated windows', my MS Office came to my mind - pirated. 

Every time I open it, the title bar turns red which makes it look too odd especially when you have to give some presentation or something like that. The simple solution is to open two instances of the Office program. Only the first one will be showing that red bar.

did anyone hear about how they are gonna dispatch the prizes ? I believe they can get our emails from the indiblogger accnt, and intimate us. But nothing till now. 

The results have been declared just one week back. Wait for few more days/weeks. 

When shall prize will be dispatched by microsoft? :(

Did they send you a DVD? Dhaval mentioned ( one reply above ) that he just got the key. 

Well, even in my case I received only the Office 365 package and that too today itself, so I guess that either the channels of delivery or the origin of these 2 dispatches would be different. I guess we'd be receiving the Arc mice on the same day as well.

product key is being sent by courier. no disc inside.

It seems you have not opened it. what u supposed to get is a key and not a disc.

u need to download from the site.
