I may not recommend the pledge, but even a or two blog a week is very good step indeep. there are so many of us, and if we all do one a day, the pending list is completed in 1 day.. but even if we do one a week according to our comfort, still we will complete the list of pending reviews in a week 

so hope that others too follow the suit sooner.

To be true, I started out yesterday, and I was enjoying it! I got to discover two new blogs that I now follow! I did all three in a day. 

There wasn't any compulsion in doing so, but I enjoyed it. 

Nice initiative, Also I will point-out that rather saying "nice blog" or "good theme" for the sake of writing review, giving a truly useful review to bloggers so they can actually improve from it will be very much appreciated.

Yes, it does make huge sense to share your reviews than just saying nice blog / visit mine too.. you are not promoting your blog by reviewing you, you are promoting yourself as a trustworthy person whom the newbie can look up to.

A green-horn here, I'm still trying to understant and customize with the system prevailing here. Naturally, reviewing others blogs go to the bottom of my list. I think it will take some time for me  to do what you expect from newbies like me.

I agree, and it's very sad to see the activity at such a low. We certainly need to do our bit as and when we can but I would like to add that the onus is on the newbies too. I hardly see any one these days taking the time out to review other blogs there after putting a request for their own -- something that could be so beneficial in so many ways to both the parties involved.

Dunno why, but I somehow get a feeling that many bloggers these days prefer to rather shy away from the entire motion which is really very sad.

Well said Arti... yes its is beneficial to all of us.. we together move to a better place.. 

seasoned bloggers should keep themsleves in constant touch with a market full of audience.. coz you never know when your existing audience changes mind and decides to pursue something else than reading your blogs..
