How far is the print and electronic media dedicated to the cause of delivering fair and unadulterated information to its millions of viewers around the country? A country which unites over the Cricket World Cup and divides over the IPL sure consists of a very volatile crowd, not very inclined to any specific group or situation. With an average of 330 millions newspapers circulated per day in India, approximately 87% of the urban/rural Indian population having access to the Television and 91% of the population listening to the Radio each day.  Hence with such unparalleled power to influence and mould Public opinion, the media can make or break many a situations involving the ordinary man. But, then, isn’t the print and electronic media   profit making industries, heavily dependent on Advertisements, TRPs and political affiliations? We are well past the Flintstone ages and a successful industry today has its share of compromises and adjustments. So as one of the dumb common guy, struggling with an average daily life, similar to a few other hundred million, we probably are deprived of the actual incidents , as we get exposed to an adulterated and strategically repackaged information over the dinner time National News bulletins.

I wonder why you even have a doubt about this?. I have stopped watching news channels on TV and I read selective contents from the news paper because of this reason.

Thats what......If the Press by far is the only medium which connects us commoners , to the "Powerful" people and their "incidents" , Its sheer cheating to deprive us of facts and figures through "Paid News" Frown

Thats is where bloggers come into picture and this community is standing up very powerfully now. Why do you think Internet Censorship has started? What are they worried of? They are worried strong-opinioned individual bloggers who cannot be bought
