HELP!!! My blogger blog NOT visible to search engines
One of the blog I write on, is acting weird. Its posts and the blog itself is NOT searchable from google, even when I write the full name yuvarevolution.blogspot.com in google, the too it doesn't give any result...
the blogger settings seem fine. Under "Settings->Basic- Privacy" it reads- "Listed on Blogger. Visible to search engines" which is what should be.What's the problem then?? Plz help out.....
Shantinath, it will depend. If your site has never been indexed then it must come out of the Google sandbox. Submitting RSS feeds in an important part of SEO if you want to get somewhere with your rankings.
You see, the problem is that the blogger URL is being redirected to country specif URLs that makes it unvisible to many. You need to get some back links from another aged site. You can also submitt RSS feeds. Here is a good list of RSS directories list. Have you added some meta tags? Also you need a site map for quick indexing. Hope this helps.
added meta tags for the whole blog (not for each individual blog-posts). also added site map by pasting those codes in the robot.txt column.... will it help?? how much time will it take before it becomes effective?? (submitting RSS felt very tidious bcoz of compulsory registration on all those sites......)
it is visible... maybe just not on your browser
I confirm its not indexed. It's not my browser.
@AparnaJi: Its of course visible, but only very partially, only on typying the full URL in google, it gives one search result. Otherwise it gives no search result.
ShaluJi: I took these two steps- submitted my blog link (yuvarevolution.blogspot.com) on these two links- http://blogsearch.google.com/ping and https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url?pli=1 Will this suffice??
You need to submit to all major search engines, then try to get some links from other bloggers. When you write something, make sure you ping it. Do these and you should be able to index it. Update your meta-tags. Remember there is something called sandbox where your blog will be not indexed. I did a quick check on your blog, its still not indexed. Do the above mentioned tricks to get it indexed. Mind you, free blogs takes time to get indexed.
Hi ShaluJi, thanks a lot for your helping response, I was not aware of these things, submitted to Google, and I pinged it also using this link, http://blogsearch.google.com/ping (did you mean pinging from the DOS ping command?? I tried pinging so too, and it worls fine).But please tell me, how to update the "meta-tags"??? You mean going in blogger setting and updating the tags?? I mean simply making some modifications and then saving again?? and sorry, never heard of "sandbox", will try to google it, but I heard it only in relation to anti-viruses (avast). and how did you check that my blog is NOT indexed ??? Please tell so that I also can keep checking at regular intervals..thanks a lot for responding :)
Try Submitting your blog manually to Search Engines..
Goto
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping or https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url?pli=1 for submitting to google.
Yahoo site explorer is now merged with Bing.
https://ssl.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx for submitting to Bing.

Thanks Dhan, I will look into that, though I have never done it manually, It is getting automatically done for my other blogs, wonder why its happening with this blog, thanks for responding. I will look into those links...

maybe you should consider submitting your sitemap to google webmasters. This will ensure that your blog content gets indexed as soon as its updated

You need to submit your blog to search engines like Google, Yahoo and bing (which provide an option for the same) so that they can index your site to come up in searches. After doing that, concentrate on your content so that these engines can rank you higher in searches.
Also if your blog is relatively new, it might take some time to get your site visible on the first page. Hope this helps.
thanks for responding Arti, but you know what that's not the case. My another blog shantihp.blogspot.com can be readily searched from google. we don't have to submit to google,yahoo etc. We just have to chose in the blogger setting an option to make the blog public and searchable, and that I have already done... I am puzzled why this is happening... and the blog is quite old -more than one year...
