How popular are podcasts among bloggers in India?

I was also wondering if bloggers are using podcasts as a medium to aid blogs with some audio voice overs. This could enable people having podcast clients to listen to the blog rather than view them.

Any takers?

" What the hell do you think I am doing here everyday????" lol! A good laugh to start the day with

Hi all,

I can confirm that you don't need a mac for iTunes. You can down load iTunes software and enjoy for rest of your life.

Cheers!

My favourite podcasts are:

http://boagworld.com/

http://digiphoto.thepodcastnetwork.com/

http://www.lenswork.com/lwpod.htm

http://webaxe.blogspot.com/

These are all podcasts about web design, accessibility and photography. I use iTunes to listen to them at home - but the best part is, I can listen to them in my car!

Although I have heard a LOT about podcasts, I haven't actually taken a look at even one of them. This maybe because I don't have a Mac. :(

Care to take a Look?

Ok now to answer he original question - I am not sure if podcast can be a substitute to blog. Especially given the bandwidth available in India. It takes time to download and kills all the enthusiasm.

There have been times when I wanted to support my German Blogs with podcast/videocast (with an iMac it is so easy), but it would take so much time.

I love podcasts.

Here are two of my faviourites -

(a) www.manager-tools.com. They have some absolutey stunning podcasts. The basic membership is free )and that is sufficient).

b) BBC - If you scrol down ther home page you will see a link to their podcasts. They have some good ones too.

And for those who want to learn german - visit by blog to see the link to some fantastic free podcasts from Deutsche Welle.

There is one more way to explore the world of podcasts. And this is my favourite way. Go to iTunes. They have a podcast section and most of the podcast is free including those my universities (I think it is called uTunes - check this up). I had once downloaded an entire course on Linear Dynamics (those who are wondering why should I still be downloading university courses at this age - well, once a student always a student.)

Cheers

I personally am an avid Podcast fan. I subscribe to a wide variety of Podcasts on iTunes. But, tailoring my blogs to a Cast format is not something that I plan on doing any time soon. Mainly because I feel that it is not worth it with the content that I post. Other bloggers can find this to be an extremely effective way to attract more users and to keep users from losing interest.

Ha ha.. well I was in the same boat as you are a couple of days ago.. but apparantly they are media files which can be downloaded onto your ipod, Archos, creative or any other such portable multimedia players ..So you can have user generated content like personal audio files (not just music, movies) etc..

apparantly its quite popular in US and Europe
