ASIA CUP March 2012 - Discussion Thread
India embark on a 3 game group stage to face their Asian friends (or not!) in the once-in-two-years tournament, The Asia Cup. All matches taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
India will face:
- Sri Lanka (again) on March 13, Tuesday. / Ind won by 50 runs
- Bangladesh (hosts) on March 16, Friday. | Ind lost by 5 wickets
- Pakistan (arch-rivals) on March 18, Sunday. | Ind won by 5 wickets
And if they end up top two, they'll be in the finals. Can the Men in (Light)Blue put up a solid performance? They are the defending champions of the tournament, having won the last edition in 2010.

20-3-2012: India are now out of the tournament.
22-3-2012: Bangladesh v/s Pakistan in the finals.

OK. Good batting display from India, but some wayward bowling early on nearly gave it away.
Positives looking ahead: Good sensible batting after loss of early wicket, partnerships, and not wasting many balls; wickets at crucial times.
Will Tendulkar play next match v/s Bangladesh? or will he be rested and Tiwary get a chance? If Tiwary and Dinda need to be blooded, the match v/s the Asian "minnows" is the perfect opportunity.

Gotta admit, a slight temptation is there to support the nemesis, coz a win for them would mean two matches of India-Pakistan, one in group stage on Sunday, and then again in finals on Thursday!
