Time to Change! - Stayfree contest
Ladies & Gents, we have another contest - The Stayfree Time to Change! contest.
Although this is a women's brand, everyone is invited to participate, and both men and women have an equal opportunity to win. Let us know if you have any questions, and we hope you like the topic!
Finally ONE POST done. Got 2 more to post for this contest itself
it was a superb post, coinciding my line of thoughts,
This contest is going great guns! For those who have taken part already and those in the process of submitting an entry; please note that the images that you use in the blog post need to be credited back to the original source. Crediting an image to 'google' or 'Internet' is not fair on the owner of the picture! :)
Oh. But Vineet jhi, what if the OWNER of the picture is not known?
P p , one has to search for the rightful owner. over net itself, quite tedious, but not impossible
this reminds me, I too have to do some more researches,
See that Vineet jhi? That BOX that I have marked in the LINK area? Its MY BLOG LINK. I have just used that picture for my postand it started showing my link itself. So whoever, copies it will LINK to my BLOGbut then I'm not the OWNER am I?. Its the same for ALL PICS. So whats the use of this CREDITING?
PL JHI nice joke. The link can keep on GOING and GOING. Its INFINITE. If you take it from someone else's blog, like photography blog, then you can give CREDITSbut in the EXAMPLE which I gave about its really not so easyand not everyone would do it
Now I am beginning to understand why Princess' teachers at school are having a tough time answering her questions.
hehehe, P P. it's a strong case of plagiarism, you should be able to go to the real source of the pic. I rem. for my h.p. post I really liked one pic after massive searches. then had to spend another gruelling half hour to go to the right owners blog. I requested blog owner, that I am using his pic. if he has any objection, I will remove it. then only I used it.
@TF JHI
lol.
@PL JHI
I know. The funny thing is, whoever comes to my blog looking for a backlink to the original picthey won't find it. I don't actually give credits you see. I make WORK easier for everyone. Just Copy Paste. Your job is done. We didn't bring anything while we came, nor will we take anything when we dieSo why all this crediting and all?. SHARE and ENJOY.
P P, you see ,it looks easy, but when you win something, there will be dissections and all, and any plagiarized thing if found will dampen your spirits then. It has happened earlier
Loss of face, sometime loss of blog...the repercussions may not be rightaway, but may come at a later point when one has come way a long distance and is quite successful in the blogosphere...
I have another query regarding this pic issue.:-)In my post for this contest, I have assembled several images from the net and then I animated them in a sequence using an image manipulation program. So who should I give credit to here? :-) Me myself or whatever sites I ripped off the original pics from? :-P
you should add the names of all the places you took it from, in the end, thanking them, or else, it is plagiarism,
Being ethical is the simple reason why quotes, pictures, or other references used from other sites need to be acknowledged. It isn't as if one is loading the original owner with obligation... it is just a matter of clear conscious.
The process is simple enough. Just create a hyperlink (obviously one that opens a new page) leading to the page of the object used. OR, write at the end of your blog something like... 'Picture credit: ABC' and hyperlink ABC to open into a new page.
remo@b'lore said: 'Why give credit?' Well, for the reasons given above... OR, remember if you ever become famous and known, the world is going to dissect your past and you wouldn't want to be embarrassed by being called a 'picture lifter' surely! :) This should be a reasonable enough deterrent!
Agree whole heartedly.
Jussst posted mine. Not too late, I hope Thank you Stayfree, brilliant choice of topic.
hmmm, very nice contest this one, in fact quite laudable, bcoz it will attract so many people to write on a cause close to their heart... I think this will attract the highest ever np. of contestant :) Good luck everyone!! and wish us luck too, this is our first participation... since it was on a "cause", so we thought why not send an entry from our side too :)
Hi thanks a lot for your help. It is finally submitted properly Thanks a lot again and do read my post.
My pleasure Haimanti Ji, I noticed you made a smarter move than I had told, didn't delete but just reposted the blog with a slightly different title :) will sure have a look :)
@HaimantiJi: you are still NOT eligible for contest!! just one minor mistake :) chk the comment on your blog-post :)
301 entries already... and there is still time for more! In fact, I've just woken up and will submit my entry today.
The sheer number of participants is indeed heartening and the competition has just begun warming up. Winning becomes tastier when there are more contestants! :)
Yes indeed :) highest no. of participants it seems :) due to the scope for a varied no. of topics that can be written on, more people are able to participate...
My first post for this topic is finally uploaded... hope some of my indiblogger pals decide to read and then comment on it. An exclusive short film was made for this post. :)
Submitted my post. This is the first time for me on Indiblogger. Can someone from the team tell me whether its been uploaded properly or not.
Thanks in advance
Hi Haimanti Ji, Your post is not submitted correctly. You have submitted the post in Indivine, but your post has not been entered for the Contest. Your post should be found under- "LifeStyle > Personal Care", but its showing under- " Social > Other Social Causes". So that's clearly wrong and you are not under this contest right now.
The right way to do was to go here-http://www.indiblogger.in/topic.php?topic=53 , and then click on "Submit Your Entry" button on the right side of page, and then fill up those columns correctly (same as you did previously). Clearly, you have not followed these steps, you have submitted your post in general by chosing your own category.
The corrective steps would be- (1) Copy-paste your written material (ur blog), and save it on your PC. (2) Delete your present blog-post i.e. delete your post titled "Disgrace of the Grand Prenuptial Affairs!" from your blog http://blog.haimanti.net/ (3) Now, again recreate your blog by copy-pasting it from the saved file in step 1 (the aim is to get another, different link to your present blog-post). (4) Now go here http://www.indiblogger.in/topic.php?topic=53 (5) Click on "Submit Your Entry" button on the right side of page and follow the next few steps. There might be another way to rectify to your mistake, but right now I don't remember any more. But since today is the last day, follow the above told steps. This will surely rectify the issue. Thanks.
DISCLAIMER: I am not in the indiblogger team or organiser's team. I am just another participant like you.
best of luck ranjith,
Finally done with my entry. Deadline successfully met! Do take a look! :)
Just wanted to know if I can submit my entry if it is posted on a blog of mine that is pending approval by indiblogger? I made a mistake of adding only my food blog to indiblogger, forgetting to add my current affair blog...added it just half an hour ago and don't know how much time it will take to get approved...now I don't feel comfortable posting my entry to this contest to my food blog, which is why I'd like to know if its okay to post it to a blog that is still pending approval on indiblogger?
Blog approved!
woww!! such a quick response !! :)
last night, 363 and still counting :) let's see what will the final- total no. of entries in this contest :)
Thank you so much, Renie...such a quick response! I have submitted my entry...it's come on the Indivine page...has it come into the contest forum correctly? Just in the nick of time, i hope! :-)
ok, its there...whew! just in time...and all the best to everyone here! may the best voice win!
hmmm, so 379 is the final count :) :) Fierce competition, will be interesting to see who the winners will be :)
I've just started reading the "least voted for" posts. The first post I read was a beautiful poem on the carefully balanced ecosystem. I'm glad Stayfree aren't depending on our votes as there are some real nice posts that we all have been missing out on reading and promoting.
that's Nice!! true that many fine posts have much less indivine votes... indivine votes depends more on the networking of people involved, and its nice that these votes are not being considered.. however, comments are being considered, so that would again depend on how good network a people has...BTW, thanks a lot for putting your views on my post..... I have responded to your views too... its (issue) much complicated actually..
