Contest prizes based on Facebook Likes..

Contest prizes based on Facebook Likes or ReTweets may not be fair because one can buy the FB likes and Tweets.

Just search "Buy Facebook Like" in Google and see the result. In previous contest the third prize was  Rs 10,000/- fuel voucher and now in the new contest it's Rs 50,000/- gift voucher. To bag these attractive gifts people may  buy the FB likes from professional bookmarkers. 1000 Facebook like costs less than Rs 5000/- only(Just quoted from one of such sites).

Indi admins, reconcile the rules, better late than never.

Hey Sujith, this is something we do need to do some research on. We did notice some suspicious activity for one of our earlier contests (Real Beauty) and that person was disqualified. They got over 2000 facebook likes in an hour! Thanks for bringing this to our notice, will discuss it with the team and figure out what needs to be done.

Thanks Renie. I know some professional Social Bookmarkers groups who have numerous Facebook ids and exchanges likes and tweets for their customers. They can cheat the system because these likes are not software generated.

FB likes or voting would just dilute any contest, i hope Indi does not adopt this method, it can be subject to manipulation Smile

Thanks Renie for being brisk and active to do justice to efficient conclusion of contests. One more thing that is troubling some member is the meaning and impact of the word INTERACTION , implied and desired in latest dove contest at thread http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?id=10402 If adequate light is thrown on it, it would be great. Sincere happy diwali wishes to you & entire family.

Was wondering how to we get FaceBook Like? What do I need to do for my post -where do I post it on facebook?

After the entries are displayed on the contest page, click the link 'more'beside your entry. You will find a like button over there. That is the button that your friends need to use to promote your post.

One need not even spend that 5 000. There also exist facebook likes exchange sites.

IndiVine votes was much better taking these facts into account. If facebook likes are to be counted at any cost, then the IB team should look  into the source from where the likes ahve originated and disqualify any member buying likes.

True, but even IB likes was done away with sometime back, for some people had raised questions. But what is truly astonishing is that nowadays even the judges verdict is not left at that and argued upon. Sad.

This exchange of likes is also possible

Now, IB likes seems to be a better option for only members of IB can vote and there no one selling IB likes just like facebook likes. Smile

If one can buy facebook likes, then its not correct to choose a winner based on that factor as the results can easily be manipulated. Indiblogger should stop this practise immediately.

Very true. Yes we know that the contest people want max publicity they can get from it. But this "facebook likes" thing is degrading the spirit of the competition.
