When Writer turns Reader!
Hey, I'm always on the look out for something new to read, and I figured a lot of people here would probably be the same way. So hence this thread to share our favourite books/authors. All genres welcome!
Okay, I'll go first, just off the top of my head, some books I've read recently and enjoyed are:
1. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
2. The Imortals of Melhua by Amish
3. The Great Indian Novel by Shashi Tharoor
4. Luka and the fire of life by Salman Rushdie
So either give your views on someone elses recommendation, or recommend something of your own! Aaaaaand go!
yes dude, legendary writer,
PG Wodehouse is a legend! When I was in school, they used to give PG Wodehouses's to all the top performers of every class. You can imagine how well that worked as a motivator (well, for me atleast)
Arthur Hailey, I've only read 'In the News' which was suggested to me by my Uncle but I was really impressed by the level of detail he went into to make the whole journalism field come alive for you. I think I also have 'Wheels' somewhere in the house, I think I'll give it a read, thanks for the suggestion!
I have read wheels, great book, hailey is known for his deep deep knowledge he fishes out in writing. his "airport', a movie was made on it too,
money changers by arthur hailey, so inspired me that my brokerage firm I started in 1991, I christened it MONEY CHANGERS.
I haven't read in the news, I think I 'll find one soon. thanks for the suggestion.
p.g. wodehouse, "the girl on a boat, " if you find one , it's a superb read.
