Reason: Captain Avi
wow, Congrats to all the winners! Perhaps, I was not good enough ! Will try to get better at writing next contest onwards!
Congratulations to all the winners! Let me try my luck in the next contest....
Further polishing your statement: Let all the people who couldn't lay their hands on a prize try their luck in the upcoming contests...
That's the best thing to do... I currently am in a dilema if I should participate in the KFC contest or not....
I think you have polished your post too much all these days. Heading to Cricketwise for some ideas and inspiration...
I think that we need to use sledging to divert the attention of those who keep winning every contest and make them stay far away from contests...
Good observation DS! So, we need to follow rules...... THat's too boring
And noiw here is your title: IndiInteeligence agent
Too many typos:
* noiw > now
* IndiInteeligence > IndiIntelligence
That a fact which everyone needs to accept. I think that the word interaction is added everything into the parameters only to generate interest in one another's entries.
There are many titles in my posession. Wouldn't mind giving away a few of them... Whatever it may be, your second observation is something that can't be concluded by everyone.
Hope to see you in a similar role at the end of every contest from now onwards!
And how about DS becoming an IndiAstrologer to predict the requirements of the judges and reveal that secret only to me...
There are so many of us congratulating the winners... well, I am one of two men who won. Thank you all!! :)
However, this is one victory that made me sad as I really wanted my blog to be the featured blog on MSN... well, maybe some other time.
Who wouldn't ? ;)
have nothing against defiant...just the type of posts that have been selected...makes me wonder...
Congrats, winners. I am sure you all deserved to win. I have not read any expect that of our Mr. Pramod which though innovative unfortunately did not win. I quickly glanced a couple after the result. They were real nice. Will check out all the winners at leisure over the next month.
Those who did not win, do not lose hope. Our turn will come. Often these Indiblogger topics are such that we can not write strictly within the rules and sponsors expectation and still keep with the character of our blogs. So sometimes we have to go out of the rules to keep with the character of our blogs and tend to lose out on these contests. But character of our blogs in the key and lets not lose it for a HTC desire or 3000-4000 bucks. I am sure some contest will come where expectations can be kept keeping with our respective blog character and we all win.
Thanks for cheering up varun :)
Btw, of late I have been noticing Mr. Arvind Passey and Madam Farida have been winning all the contests. I wanted to share a few observations about these 2 people.
I first noticed Mr. Arvind Pasey when one disgruntled Naving someone hurled insults at him for winning the Samsung Tab. I also felt Mr. Passey's post as such was not great and Naveen's comments had some merit. From then I have been closely observing his contest posts. I must say I was really impressed with his Surf Excel and Dove posts. He has really innovated making an interesting post keeping with the topic and yet not compromising on blog character.
Ms Farida has nicely stated why she wins on another thread. She looks deep into her life for experiences that relate to topic at hand. As they say facts are stranger than fiction. Posts from the heart always reach out to people.
These are two lessons I have learnt from these 2 regular winners - There is scope for innovation everywhere. Write from your heart whatever is the topic. There will be something from your life related to anything.
What a wonderful gesture from you .. that is what I would call the spirit of Christmas. This came out as soothing words for me today, as I am reading this immediately after reading a hatemail from someone. BTW one of the Indiblogger thinks I am writing crap posts about some imaginary things. When I started blogging and writing about cancer or my special needs daughter, I was not even a part of Indiblogger platform. I just have been through so much that I can pick up a topic relating to any question from my life itself. As for the person (who wants to remain anonymous) I wish s/he was right. I wish so much that all this was fake and then I will pass on all those prizes to that particular blogger. Honestly I myself wish so much that bloggers like Ranjith, Pramod, DS, (Arti has already been there) and many other would really make a mark there, but above the contest prizes they really have made place in the hearts of Indibloggers.
Thank you DS
I am glad I made you happy, Ms Farida. I understand you have been through a lot. So good at least winning blog contests is giving you some succour. As they say experience is the best teacher. Good to see you teaching to others what experience has taught you through your posts.
Thanks DS. Glad you liked my KFC post. But I fear the KFC guys may not like it. But never mind. One day I am sure I will win something at Indiblogger and so will you. Till then let us keep trying and having fun.
Please check out my post too @ THe Fool...
Even my post the kfc guys will not like, am alnmost sure of it :(
Excellent post, DS. Loved the cricket anecdotes. I wish KFC had retained the old topic. You would have definitely won the first prize. I tried commenting on your post. Some technical issues.
Thanks for the appreciation!!! The only hope is that KFC supports cricket and maybe they will choose my post! They are the main sponsors of the KFC Big Bash in Australia and they even sponsor children cricket in SA!!!
Then again since I am a veggie, I am only hoping I win from among first three positions, otherwise its a waste for me :P
About technical problem am not aware, two others commented today...
Whats the error??
Yeah Farida ji..you really write well..I have read all your contest posts. They are really awesome..Congrtz for the winning..i Guess you only hold the continous winning record..You rock farida ji..\m/N
Merry christmas to u and ur family
Thank you Sampath..
Ur welcome
Just wait until you hear from Indiblogger team. Don't panic and start to wonder whether they have forgotten all about it. They won't. LOL
The only protocol that I'm aware of is to wait for the next move, @pri... all winners are contacted with details of how the prize will ultimately reach them. :)
I just checked Pri's blog..the post that won.. See Pri, no biasness but
No formatting done, grammar wrong at several places, is that how you choose a winning post?
I am not just disappointed because I did not win.My problem is the basis on which you choose a winning post! these are basic things that one must look , esp. into a BLOG! It is a public forum. Content and presentation stand on pillars of Correct constructs! If that is weak, rest of it crumbles down.
Really disappointed!
Not really. Have you by any chance read the books of one Mr. Chetan Bhagat? Any idea how many copies his books sell? After you post I checked out pri's post. She has put lot of effort connecting her story to the Tangle movie and into composing the poem. The effort must definitely be appreciated. Though topic as such was a very boring one and I would not have written something of that sort. However I feel I could have done what Mr. Passey has done, researching about poems on hair. I would have definitely found that interesting.
I say we should analyze what is good in the winner's writing and incorporate that into our writings. The flaws in the winner's writing don't help anyone except hurting the feelings of the winners and taking credit away from their victory.
I usually take great care, especially after meeting Vidya Sury, to keep the grammar and sentences in my blog correct. Therefore, I assure you I am not defending myself. But then, blogging is like a personal dairy and you need not be grammatically perfect. Content counts but in the form of creativity not English grammar. So many of the very popular bloggers I know, blog in hinglish. If you are going to discard every post with grammatical errors from contest, how many would remain? These are not English lit. exams.
So, Fool,
By giving out the example of one certain Mr.Chetan Bhagat, you wish to tell me that content DOES NOT matter??? That is a very very scary thought indeed!
:)
Please, at least for us bloggers, content has been the most powerful vision! Hope I am not blinded enough!
About her efforts, I have no doubts! You see, my problem is not with her post, I am sure pri has worked hard, just as all of us have! I have problems with the team that has chosen the winning post.
See the topic was,
"Love is a two way street: Love your hair and it loves you back! "
Right?
What small and special things do you do to your hair to nourish it and make you feel happier and more beautiful?-- This question has been very nicely tackled by pri. As has been, by many more, others.
But I just cannot ignore the mistakes na! I mean, there is a reason why we are meant to write and blog about things and win for it! Don't you think?
If this hurts anyone, I apologise. But this is certainly not my point. I really hope that bloggers are matured even to handle both success and losses. I just want this to be a social media, where we are open to thoughts. We sometimes forget these little things.. That is it..
I can recall the initial topic also asked the bloggers to share 'their Wow hair moments'.
touche!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Results are way to random to be random!!!!!
Congratulations to all the winners...am happy i won..... thanks Dove..and Indiblogger....
